The Dangers of Expressing Big Ideas

We all have big and crazy dreams and ideas – big ones – ones that only our heart of hearts sustain. Such flames are fragile. Don’t speak them out loud. Keep them to yourself. Outside influence extinguishes. Best case, you’re supported and gain a psychic reward of having expressed an idea without having actually done anything. The motivation to create dies. Worst case, you face criticism and an onslaught of the reasons why it cannot happen. You feel discouraged and ashamed for having thought such crazy thoughts, and not only does the idea die, but your future ideas die too. There’s no winning. What you need to do is listen intently to what is being transmitted to you and do what is being asked of you. Follow it through without thought, without resistance, without outside influence. Listen.
